Time For A Drink: Banaberry Colada

I usually post meals and such that are friendly for the whole family but I'm changing things up a bit today. Sometimes it's nice to have a something - perhaps a drink - that's just for grown ups.

One of my favorite drinks is a Pina Colada. I love 'em! I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that I believe coconut is one of the best flavors ever, right? (If I could make everything in the world taste like coconut, I would in a heartbeat.)

When it comes to making my own Pina Coladas, I usually make a version that's pretty standard with rum, cream of coconut, and pineapple juice. I wanted to try something different this time though. I'm still on a bit of a smoothie kick so I thought I'd incorporate that idea into a more grown-up form. By combining fruit with the rum and coconut, I got a really tasty, shake-like combination that could basically be your after dinner drink and dessert rolled into one!

Banaberry Colada

8 whole strawberries
1 banana
2 TB cream of coconut
3-4 oz coconut rum, depending on taste (I prefer Malibu Rum)
4 ice cubes

1. Blend everything together in a blender and enjoy!

Makes two servings
