As an artist and designer, I find inspiration everywhere I look. I can appreciate the artistry and hard work that goes into pretty much any form of art. The piece of art can be anything from macaroni noodles stuck to a piece of paper with glue to an elaborate painting hanging in the finest museum. It can also be a hand-crafted wooden table or even something as simple as a cupcake.
The popular tiny cake was the highlight today's adventure. I was at a bridal shower and the sister of the bride-to-be made some of the cutest (and tastiest) cupcakes I've ever seen.
She put a lot of hard work into them and you could see the love and passion she has for creating these little foodie pieces of art. They were perfectly crafted and I hope others appreciated the artistry and dedication involved in putting those together.
I'm used to the whole 'outside-the-box' thinking when it comes to designing for the web or for print, but these cupcakes will force me to bring that idea to the kitchen. By a tedious and unique use of marshmallows from the sister of a bride, my cooking views have been slightly skewed. I know you're probably thinking that it's no big deal because you see food creations like this when watching all those cooking shows on TV, but how many have actually seen something that impressive in everyday life? They inspire me to join the designing part of my life with the cooking side to create beautiful and unique looking food that also tastes wonderful.
